Frequently asked questions

What gas connection does the Atosa ATRC-48 need?

It needs a 3/4" NPT gas line at the rear of the unit and a supply that can deliver 140,000 BTU per hour. A pressure regulator comes with the unit. It is set to 4" w.c. for natural gas and 10" w.c. for LP. Have a qualified gas technician install it in line with local codes.

Can the ATRC-48 run on propane?

Yes. It ships set up for natural gas and includes an LP conversion kit. On LP it uses #50 orifices and runs at 10" w.c., and output stays at 35,000 BTU per burner and 140,000 BTU in total. Have a qualified gas technician do the conversion.

What are the installation requirements?

Set it on a level, solid, noncombustible countertop or equipment stand. Leave at least 6" of clearance at the sides and back and 4" underneath. It must be installed under an exhaust hood as local regulations require. It is built for indoor use only.

How large is the cooking surface?

The cooking area is 47.9" wide by 20.2" deep, about 968 sq. in. It is split into four 12" zones, and each zone has its own burner and control.

What certifications does the ATRC-48 have?

It is cETLus listed, which means it was tested for gas appliance safety in the US and Canada (ANSI Z83.11 and CSA 1.8). It is also ETL Sanitation listed to NSF/ANSI 4, the food equipment sanitation standard most health departments look for in commercial cooking equipment.

What warranty comes with the ATRC-48?

Atosa gives a one-year parts and labor warranty, counted from the date the unit ships from Atosa. It covers defects in materials or workmanship in gas components, including the cast iron grates and stainless steel radiants. Labor is covered at standard straight-time rates, plus reasonable travel time. The warranty does not cover alteration, neglect, abuse, misuse, accidents, damage during transit or installation, fire, flood or acts of God. Send claims straight to Atosa with the model number, serial number, proof of purchase and installation date.

How does the ATRC-48 compare with the ATRC-24, ATRC-36 and ATCB-48?

The ATRC-24 and ATRC-36 are the same radiant design in smaller sizes. The ATRC-24 is 24" wide with 2 burners and 70,000 BTU, and the ATRC-36 is 36" wide with 3 burners and 105,000 BTU. The ATCB-48 matches the ATRC-48 in size and output at 140,000 BTU, but it heats with lava briquettes instead of stainless steel radiants, and it is heavier at 248 lb net.

Does it ship free, and how is it delivered?

Yes, this model ships free. It ships on a pallet by freight truck. A lift gate fee applies to large items like this one if you don't have a loading dock and is calculated at checkout.
