Frequently asked questions

What outlet does the Atosa MCF8720GR need?

It plugs into a standard 115V grounded NEMA 5-15R receptacle and draws 2.1 A at 60 Hz, single phase. Plug it straight into the wall. Atosa's warranty does not cover damage caused by extension cords, low voltage or voltage drops.

Is the MCF8720GR a freezer or a refrigerator?

It is a freezer. Atosa rates it at -8°F to 0°F and recommends setting it in that range. If you need a glass door refrigerator, look at Atosa's refrigerator merchandisers instead.

Will it fit through a standard doorway?

It will fit through a 36" doorway by width and depth, since it is 27" wide and 31-1/2" deep. At 81-1/5" tall, though, it is taller than a standard 80" door opening. Measure the opening and plan to tilt the unit or move it through a taller opening, following Atosa's installation instructions.

What certifications does it have?

It is cETLus listed and ETL Sanitation certified. cETLus means it meets electrical safety standards for the US and Canada. ETL Sanitation means it meets the sanitation standard health inspectors look for on commercial foodservice equipment.

What warranty comes with it?

Atosa gives 2 years of parts and labor coverage, plus 3 more years on the sealed compressor, for 5 years of compressor coverage in total. The extra compressor years cover only the sealed compressor parts. They do not cover the cabinet, paint finish, temperature control, refrigerant, metering device, fan assembly or other electrical parts. The warranty also excludes damage from alteration, neglect, misuse, accidents, damage during transit or installation, fire, flood, power failure and improper electrical connections. You file claims directly with Atosa and need the model number, serial number, proof of purchase and installation date.

Which way does the door open, and are other options available?

The MCF8720GR door is hinged on the right. Atosa makes the same freezer with a left-hinged door as model MCF8720GRL. Extra shelves are part W0402394, and each comes with 4 shelf clips.

How does it compare with other Atosa black glass door merchandiser freezers?

The MCF8720GR is the single-door, 27" wide model in the line. The MCF8732GR is a two-door model about 39-1/2" wide with 28.5 cu. ft. The MCF8721ES is a larger two-door model, and the MCF8728GR is a three-door model. All of them use the same black exterior, stainless interior and bottom-mount R290 design.

Does it ship free, and how is it delivered?

Yes, this model ships free. It ships on a pallet by freight truck. A lift gate fee applies to large items like this one if you don't have a loading dock and is calculated at checkout.
