Frequently asked questions
What gas connection does the ATTG-36 need?
It needs a gas supply to a 3/4" NPT connection at the rear, and a regulator comes with it. The regulator is set to 4" w.c. for natural gas or 10" w.c. for liquid propane. Choose the gas type when you order, and size the supply line for a 75,000 BTU/hr load. Gas equipment should be installed by a qualified technician to local code.
Does it need an electrical outlet?
No. It runs on gas alone. You light the burners from standby pilots, and mechanical thermostat valves control the gas flow.
How do the thermostatic controls work?
Each 12" section has its own thermostat knob. When the plate reaches the set temperature, the thermostat valve adjusts the gas flow by itself to hold it there. This lets you run three temperature zones at once, for example eggs and pancakes on one side and burgers on the other.
Will it fit through a standard doorway?
Yes. At 28-3/5" deep and 15-1/5" high it fits easily through a 36" doorway and an 80" door opening. Plan on at least two people to move it, since it weighs 271 lb.
What certifications does it have?
It is cETLus listed for gas safety in the US and Canada, and ETL-Sanitation listed to NSF/ANSI Standard 4 for commercial cooking equipment. Health inspectors and fire officials look for these listings in commercial kitchens.
What warranty comes with it?
Atosa covers it for 1 year, parts and labor, starting on the date it ships from Atosa. Claims go straight to Atosa and must include the model number, serial number, proof of purchase and installation date. The warranty does not cover alteration, neglect, abuse, misuse, accidents, damage in transit or during installation, fire or acts of God. It also does not apply outside the continental United States. Extended warranties can be bought at the time of purchase.
How is it different from other Atosa griddles?
The ATTG-24 (2 burners, 50,000 BTU) and ATTG-48 (4 burners, 100,000 BTU) are the same thermostatic design in 24" and 48" widths. The ATMG-36 is the same size but has manual controls, a 3/4" plate and 30,000 BTU burners (90,000 BTU total). The ATG-3624-S is a 36" thermostatic griddle with a deeper 24" cooking area, rear and side splashes and 120,000 BTU.
How do I prepare the griddle plate before first use?
Heat the plate to 200°F to 300°F to melt off the factory rust-inhibitor coating, then clean the surface. Next, heat it to 300°F to 350°F and spread about one ounce of cooking oil per square foot to season it.
Does it ship free, and how is it delivered?
Yes, this model ships free. It ships on a pallet by freight truck. A lift gate fee applies to large items like this one if you don't have a loading dock and is calculated at checkout.
