makes things level. Honestly, think a serrated knife would've been better. The blades aren't sharp, which is good for safety, but if your cake forms a crust on the outside, it's hard to start and end cutting, and the cake ends up tearing. Going through the soft center part of the cake is a breeze though. Quite large and takes up space, unfortunately can't return this so I'll make good use, but honestly it's just a little flimsy and its performance doesn't justify the amount of space it takes up.
